What is direct primary care (DPC)?

Imagine being able to get a hold of your doctor directly, get seen quickly, and actually have time to talk to them. Direct primary care makes that possible!

Healthcare, the way it should feel

At Redwood Osteopathic Family Medicine, you pay one simple monthly membership fee, and you get a doctor who knows you, takes time with you, and is easy to reach. No copays for visits. No surprise bills. No endless phone trees.

How Redwood is different

Direct primary care (DPC) practices typically offer longer visits, direct access, and simple pricing. Here’s what Redwood adds on top of that.

Holistic and specialty services from me, discounted for members (added fee):

  • Osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT): gentle, hands-on care for pain, tension, and recovery
  • Reiki: a gentle, hands-on or hands-off practice many people find relaxing and calming. I’m attuned to master-level Reiki. Can be added to an OMT session.
  • Coming soon: auricular (ear) acupuncture and ear piercing

Visits that fit your life

In person, online, or even outdoors!

  • In the office: visits and OMT at my Taborspace/SE Belmont office.
  • Telemedicine: video visits from home (Oregon only, Washington coming soon!)
  • Phone or secure message: for quick questions and follow-ups
  • Outdoors: walking, rolling, or sitting on a bench, at whatever pace works for you
  • Home visits: for an added fee

A team approach

People understand health and healing in many ways, and I welcome your perspective. I’m happy to work alongside your specialists, naturopath, chiropractor, acupuncturist, or anyone else on your care team.

A welcoming place for everyone

  • All patients and families are welcome here.
  • LGBTQ+ affirming, neurodiversity-friendly, trauma-informed and accessible to many bodies and abilities.
  • Redwood is a woman-owned small business.
  • I speak Spanish. Atiendo en español.

Healthy people, healthy planet

Caring for your health and caring for the earth go hand in hand, so I make every business decision with the planet in mind. Telemedicine saves trips, the office is easy to reach by public transit, home visits are by EV, and records and billing are paperless.

What every direct primary care membership includes

These are the core benefits of the DPC model at Redwood and typically elsewhere.

Coming in the months after we open: Pap smears, skin biopsy, cyst removal, skin tag removal, cryotherapy (freezing warts and other skin spots), incision and drainage (draining abscesses and boils), suturing (stitches), ear irrigation (earwax removal), knee injections, IUD removal, and EKG (heart rhythm test)

Hoping to add: IUD insertion, Nexplanon insertion and removal, shoulder injections, toenail removal

How direct primary care stacks up

Direct primary care sits in a sweet spot. Compared with traditional insurance-based care, you get more time with your doctor, easier access, and clear pricing without copays or surprise bills. Compared with concierge medicine, you get that same personal attention at a much more affordable price. And because direct primary care works alongside insurance, you can keep your coverage for the big things while getting everyday care that actually fits your life.
